Weimar Blues 03:07
I'm looking up at a cloudy sky Ain't worried everybody will die Strollin' by, two by two If it's a fiery end I want to spend it with you Let's lose these Weimar Blues Desperadoes right from the start Mighty angry but we ain't too smart Getting pretty sick of playin' for tips So we're gonna have our apocalypse Let's lose these Weimar Blues Now love is out of range I feel the climate change I was always red hot when you used to shout But 40 days of rain put the fire out Can't lose these Weimar Blues I'm looking up at a cloudy sky Hear the river as the waters rush by Go underground, sail away You just can't trump this perfect day Let's lose these Weimar Blues

Babylon 03:15
By the rivers of Babylon we sat and we wept When we remembered Zion There on the willows we hung our guitars How can we sing in this strange land? Remember what they cried the day the city fell Tear it down, tear it down, tear it down Our captors told us sing, but they can go to hell We'll sing again when vengeance comes around By the rivers of Babylon we sat and we wept When we remembered Zion There on the willows we hung our guitars How can we sing in this strange land? Daughters of Babylon don't you shed a tear Hide behind your high walls and locks Happy we shall be when your children disappear And we dash their little heads on the rocks

Son House 03:07
Memory's disease Like an open sore Show you that old graveyard Where Son House don't sing no more Show you that old graveyard Where Son House don't sing no more Leanin' on his rock Looking for a trace An emptiness inside keeps sayin' This must be the place High on holy ground Whisper by and by Detroit ain't no place to live But it's a fine place to die Detroit ain't no place to live But it's a fine place to die Poured out half our gin Said a silent prayer But Jesus wasn't listenin' And Son House wasn't there C'mon Judgement Day For my sins I'll pay Devil go to Hell I'll find death in my own way Devil go to Hell I'll find death in my own way Finished off our gin Said a drunken prayer For a city's worn out memory To a god who doesn't care

I'm So Happy 02:43
I'm so happy now you finally left me baby Played your message I played your fool I never could get through to you I'm not saying you won't be missed but your the first name on my black list I'm so happy now we're finally disconnected On the line to the bitter end And off the hook when you call my friend I'm so sorry if my silence stings But it won't be me when your telephone rings I'm so happy now this song is finally over You were wild and you were free But you just couldn't sing no harmony One last thing I won't retract I'm taking this out as a solo act

about

About time. About place. About being here, in the post-industrial middle of America, watching the reel unwind. Almost country, but not quite. Close to swing, but swerving in another direction. Experiments in tempo and tonality, and a few simple songs inspired by Fritz Lang's cinema, Bertolt Brecht's poetry, and Trump's theatre of the absurd.
